This signing was attended by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung; PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana; LPSK Chairman Achmadi; and Jakarta Inspector Dhany Sukma.

In his speech, Pramono emphasized that this cooperation is important for the Jakarta Government to realize good governance that is clean, transparent, and open.

"This becomes our reference for choosing and appointing anyone to the existing echelon," he expressed.

He then highlighted the importance of the role of LPSK. He mentioned that not many regional governments are responsible for protecting victims and witnesses. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Government provides protection services for victims and witnesses.

He believes that signing this cooperation would have a positive impact on the Jakarta Government.

"Certainly, everything can't run well without the Jakarta City Council's support and backing," he stated.

Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma stated that this cooperation was made to prevent and eradicate crimes of money theft as well as deviations and abuse of authority within the Jakarta Government.

The scope of this MoU includes data and information exchange, socialization and education, training, and data analysis.

"LPSK, together with us, has already developed regulations concerning the protection of whistleblowers, specifically related to whistleblower protection, which has been set through Gubernatorial Regulation No. 49/2024 on complaint management," he furthered.

Witness and Victim Protection Agency Chairperson, Achmadi, stated that this cooperation is a tangible form of commitment to strengthen efforts to prevent, handle, and protect witnesses and victims in certain cases.

"Behind the role of witnesses and/or whistleblower reporters who provide information to help uncover and report a case, in some instances they also often face risks to their safety," he explained.

He emphasized the importance of protection for whistleblowers or witnesses who often face the risk of threats or intimidation.

"We also thank Mr. Governor; all victims of criminal acts in Jakarta are covered for psychological and psychosocial medical expenses," he added.

While, Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center Head, Ivan Yustiavandana, welcomes this collaboration. Jakarta itself is the largest financial transaction hub in Indonesia.

"Most reports are from Jakarta. And the context isn't about the perpetrators, but about those conducting transactions, not the offenders," he asserted.

He added, PPATK was committed and ready to assist the Jakarta Government, especially regarding transaction data.
